Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive will join the Waikato DHB at a critical juncture where cultural and strategic leadership is required. They will be responsible for engaging widely across stakeholders to communicate and then operationalise a sustainable vision for the future that emphasises equity of access and of outcomes, places patients at the core of all activity and is delivered in relationship with the broad community of iwi, NGOs and PHOs.

This role requires leadership of change that is fundamental to the long-term effectiveness of the DHB. With a strategy in place, the Chief Executive will work across the organisation to lift culture and across stakeholders to deliver sustainable results that are whānau-focused and proactive toward health trends decades into the future.

Waikato District Health Board operates under the kaupapa of:

  • Give and Earn Respect – Whakamana
  • Stronger Together – Kotahitanga
  • Fair Play – Mauri Pai
  • Listen to me, talk to me – Whakarongo
  • Growing the good – Whakapakari

The Chief Executive is expected to live these values, champion them in others throughout the organisation and set an impeccable ethical standard.
