Executive Director of Finance (CFO), Supply Chain and Procurement

Waikato District Health Board (DHB) provides and funds the provision of health services in the Waikato region. Waikato DHB serves a population of more than 426,300 and covers more than 21,000km2. It stretches from northern Coromandel to close to Mt Ruapehu in the south, and from Raglan on the west coast to Waihi on the east. 

Waikato DHB is looking to appoint an outstanding Executive Director of Finance, Supply Chain and Procurement. The purpose of the role is to design, implement and maintain effective processes for the management of organisation’s finances, payroll, and procurement and supply chain in support of the clinical service objects of Waikato DHB.  The role acts as the Chief Financial Officer for the organisation.

This position partners with the Chief Executive Officer and executive leadership team in the delivery of organisational strategic objectives with specific accountability for finance, procurement, and supply chain. The role will also have responsibility for contributing to the enablement of culture change and continuous improvement, and for providing visible leadership across the health system.

Ideally, candidates will have extensive experience of working at a senior level in public service organisations and a proven track record of delivering change. Candidates will need to demonstrate political dexterity and experience of working at a strategic level.

The Executive Director of Finance, Supply Chain and Procurement will have outstanding leadership skills, with the ability to deliver results and create a strong sense of morale and spirit within a team.

Candidates will also need to demonstrate a willingness to engage effectively with Maori consumers (patients/whanau) and an understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its relevance to Waikato DHB’s service.
