Chief Executive, Entrada Travel Group

Entrada Travel Group is a New Zealand owned tourism and transport organisation with origins dating back to 1991 when a collective of private coach operators acquired the former government owned InterCity long distance bus network. Over the following decades the business grew from a national coach operator into a diversified travel group with operations spanning across New Zealand and Australia and an FY24 revenue of $155m. Its evolution reflects sustained investment in regional connectivity and visitor experiences as well as a long-standing commitment to the trans-Tasman tourism industry.

The group manages an extensive portfolio of well recognised transport and tourism brands. InterCity remains a core nationwide network connecting hundreds of destinations each day and providing essential long distance coach services for domestic residents and visitors alike.

The tourism division includes brands such as GreatSights, Gray Line New Zealand and awesomeNZ, which deliver premium guided experiences across many of New Zealand’s most significant destinations including Milford Sound, Waitomo/Hobbiton and Aoraki Mount Cook. Marine based operations encompass ferry operations and marine tourism activities spanning both Australia and New Zealand. Entrada’s footprint in Tropical North Queensland features a range of exceptional dive and snorkel experiences on Australia’s iconic Great Barrier Reef, complemented in New Zealand by Auckland-based marine wildlife encounters. These offerings further broaden the company’s experiential tourism portfolio and strengthen its reputation for high-quality adventure and eco-tourism experiences.

Entrada has also strengthened its coach transport position within Australasia through strategic expansion. A notable milestone was the acquisition of Greyhound Australia which extended the company’s reach into one of the region’s largest long distance coach markets.

The group is fully owned by two New Zealand family businesses whose involvement in transport and tourism spans several generations. Tranzit Group and the Ritchies Family provide strong industry heritage and stewardship which support Entrada’s continued development as a major provider of integrated travel services across both countries.

Entrada is now inviting applications for the Chief Executive Officer position. As CEO, you will lead Entrada toward its long-term ambition to be Australasia’s leading connector of people, places and experiences. Reporting to the Board, you will provide strategic direction and strong operational oversight, ensuring sustainable growth, seamless integration across both markets, and a relentless focus on safety and service excellence.

You will translate strategy into action—driving commercial performance, optimising the business portfolio, ensuring disciplined capital allocation, and championing a unified, technology-enabled operating model. A critical part of the role is inspiring a high-performing Executive Leadership Team, strengthening organisational capability, and representing Entrada with regulators, stakeholders, partners, and government.
